How to get into a Red Sox Game

College Kids,

I have never been to a Red Sox game and it is impossible to find tickets. How can I get into a Red Sox game?

Chris,

Red Sox tickets are expensive and extremely popular so they're really tough to get through the Red Sox. However, there are a few different ways you can get to a game without shelling out too much money.
Here is the order you should go in to find Sox tickets.

1. Check out the
RedSox.com

Tickets here are somewhat expensive but you can often find several seats together for much less than what you would pay for at a ticketing agency. A tip from the College Kids, avoid outfield grandstand.

2. Check
craigslist

Just search craigslist and you will find a lot of tickets people are trying to get rid of. A lot of them are good seats because they are seat's season ticket holders cannot use. Look around and you can find some good deals. Just remember to be careful to make sure you are not getting ripped off.

3. Ticketing Agencies

This is your last choice and you should only use it if you are desperate for a couple good seats for an upcoming game and you don't want to scalp tickets or wait in line. They are expensive. One well known ticketing agency is
StubHub.

4.
Game Day Tickets

The preferred way for the College Kids to go to Sox games, a few hundred tickets are sold at face value at Gate E before every Sox game. You are allowed to line up 5 hours before game time and we recommend you get there 3 hours before (depending on the game). Some good deals include standing room (if you're with one or two people you can find some empty seats) for $20, or bleachers for $12 or $23. To get to Gate E walk towards the park from the Kenmore green line station and take a left at the
Cask 'n Flagon onto Lansdowne Street. It will be on your right under the Green Monster.

5. Scalpers

Your last choice is to buy from scalpers. (Hint: If a guy is holding a sign that says "Need Tickets," he's a scalper). It is a good idea to wait until right before game time or during the first couple innings as this is when you will get the cheapest tickets. If you are going with a bunch of friends a good strategy is to buy cheap seats that are not together, they'll be cheaper, and use standing room. Just remember, scalping is illegal.

Cheers,

The College Kids
