Many of you have seen our recent article on glow stick photography. Our goal was to show our users how to do something fun and different with their digital cameras. We spent a few minutes gathering supplies, a few minutes setting up the shoot, and then spent about an hour trying different things with the camera. Eventually we ended up with a simple tutorial and a small collection of examples.
However, this morning we woke up and noticed (thanks to one of our users, thanks man!) that EbaumsWorld has taken all of the photos from the tutorial and posted them on their website, giving us no credit whatsoever. Ebaums is profiting from our original work, without asking out permission or giving us any credit. This is wrong, and not to mention, a violation of United States copyright law.
Here is a screen shot of the plagiarism in action. We need help dealing with this! After all, we're just a bunch of poor college kids. We don't have the money to take the kind of legal action that would resolve this situation.
Please, head over to Ebaums and leave a comment below the pictures telling them that this is theft and plagiarism. Digg and reddit this article, tell your friends, email, whatever you can do, however small, will be a great help. As a photographer, I feel violated after this incident. I think anyone else who does anything creative would feel the same way.
-Edit- Link to the plagiarism: Our Stolen Work
Ebaums has done this before with other artists. Don't allow them to continue! Of course, I want to take the time here to thank our users, both new visitors and our regulars. I hope you enjoy the site, and as always, keep checking back for updates.

It hurts to see the original website that we looked up to, and checked every Friday for cool stuff as teenagers, rip us apart like this...
I am just so disappointed.
I never thought that I would actually be plagiarized by Ebaums. This is a terrible thing to happen to any artist. We are victims of dishonest and unethical business practices. EbaumsWorld, this is WRONG and you know it!!
Agreed sirs; and the comments that retarded people leave on their site does not help much either. They clearly do not understand what they are talking about.
What a bunch of bullshit.
Ebaum's is famous for this kind of crap, and that's why I've never been a visitor.
Doesn't this violate the DMCA? You can most definitely get it taken down.
Have you even tried asking them to take it down or give you credit? chances are someone else submitted your work to them.
Anonymous,
Yes, we have sent a cease and desist letter to their legal department. So far, they have not responded. In the meantime they continue to profit from our work while giving us no credit whatsoever. Also, if you notice, the gallery was submitted by 'staff' and not a random user. They should know better.
hmm, its not coming up 4 me...? could they have responded over the weekend?
